Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Retaining Wall In North County
The 40-year-old rider was fatally injured in the Fallbrook crash, authorities said.
FALLBROOK, CA — Authorities have identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash over the weekend in northern San Diego County.
Megan Vilardi, 40, crashed the Harley-Davidson she was riding at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday on Via Monserate and Linda Vista in Fallbrook, according to the California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
"For reasons being investigated, the Harley Davidson overturned, and the female rider collided with a nearby retaining wall," CHP Officer Hunter Gerber said.

Vilardi, a Fallbrook resident, was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to the medical examiner.
"It is not believed alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the cause of this collision," Gerber said.
