Motorcyclist Killed Monday Night Near Oceanside

A motorcyclist was killed tonight when the motorcycle struck a tree in the unincorporated Bonsall area of San Diego County, east of Oceanside.

The crash was reported just after 7:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Camino Del Cielo, near Camino Del Rey, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle was found 100 feet away from the motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

A witness told officers at the scene the motorcyclist was driving recklessly before the crash, according to the CHP.
