Lockdown Lifted At Nichols Elementary School In Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, CA – Nichols Elementary School in Oceanside was briefly placed on lockdown Monday afternoon, police said.

A report of a suspicious person near the school at 4250 Old Grove Road prompted the precautionary lockdown, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

The security alert was later rescinded, police said. The unidentified person who prompted the roughly 30-minute lockdown by walking onto the campus was not found, a police spokesman said.
