Noise Advisory: Camp Pendleton Firing High Explosive Munitions
Camp Pendleton has issued a noise advisory alert for June 5 - 11. Expect big bangs in the Oceanside area in the coming week.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Residents of Oceanside and communities around Camp Pendleton are likely to hear the occasional earth rattling boom over the next week.
The Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, California, issued a public service announcement for Oceanside and surrounding communities.
NOISE ADVISORY: Artillery units are scheduled to train from 6 a.m. to midnight, June 5-11.

According to the Camp Pendleton website, units in training will be Firing High Explosive Munitions. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
For noise inquiries, visit www.pendleton.marines.mil or contact Range Operations Division Office at 760-725-0357 during the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After normal business hours (and weekends), contact the Command Duty Officer at 760-725-5061.
