Noise Advisory In Oceanside Due To Camp Pendleton Training

Marines at Camp Pendleton will be firing high explosive ammunition during their live-fire training on Wednesday, Thursday and next week.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Oceanside residents may hear booming noises as Camp Pendleton Marines participate in live-fire training Wednesday and Thursday, a Camp Pendleton spokesperson announced. Live-fire training will continue next week from July 12-14.

Residents can expect to hear loud ammunition noises anytime between 6 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. as Marines fire high explosive ammunitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact area, roughly seven miles from Oceanside.

The sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to fifty miles away, according to a news release.
