Here are the top five stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:
- Oceanside Museum of Art is kicking off its 25th-anniversary celebrations with an evening under the stars at The Seabird Resort on Saturday, February 26 from 8:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. The evening will feature an immersive experience of dessert selections plus an atmospheric light show and live music. - Here's an update about the Oceanside woman who received sticker shock when she returned from visiting family in Europe over the holidays to a much higher SDG&E energy bill than when she was at home. On Monday, SDG&E sent out three employees to her building and determined that her meter is reading the usage of a neighbor. (CBS News 8)
- The San Diego North Economic Development Council (SDNEDC) and Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, two of North San Diego County's leading business organizations, have aligned in support of Ocean Kamp. A mixed-use plan off Highway 76 and N. Foussat Road, Ocean Kamp will create new housing, a state-of-the-art wave pool, hotels, parks and more. (osidenews.com)
- Kimy Gets Skinny is setting out to introduce a healthy take on your favorite snack food. Doatnuts, the guilt-free treats will soon debut in its own shop on Vista Way near El Camino Real in Oceanside. - California officials announced Monday that schoolchildren will have to continue masking, despite pushback from a division of parents and elected officials. The news comes as the state prepares to lift its indoor mask mandate on Tuesday as coronavirus case rates continue to fall sharply. Cases have dropped by more than 75 percent since mid-January, California Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Mark Ghaly said Monday. (San Diego Patch)
