OCEANSIDE, CA — This week's Oceanside Farmers Market spotlight features Reel Street Eats

Meet Josh Shapiro, the chef-owner of Reel Street Eats. Based in North County San Diego and available at farmers markets and street fairs across SD, including Oceanside.

After COVID-19 affected his work as general manager of Liberty Public Market in Liberty Station and his catering company (Reel & Ranch) he pivoted and created Reel Street Eats, taking 3 of their favorite restaurant quality ceviche’s out onto the streets & to the people!

"What we do is different. We serve 3 ceviche dishes. 2 of 3 are served raw. They are fresh, flavorful and they sell. This is not bits of assorted fish in pre-packed pre-mixed juice." said Josh, "We make everything fresh when ordered and in full view of each guests. We source all our high-quality fish from local fishermen. We engage with guests. We talk to people about the food, it is sourcing, about their tastes, their food fears and even about their lives and memories."

The response to our food has been overwhelmingly positive. We sell out of most items most days. It's because our ceviche is that good...but it's also a necessary part of serving the FRESHEST local fish. When you buy our ceviche, it is FRESH. The fish, the juice, the veggies. Nothing is left over from yesterday's market. Today's food was sourced, prepped, and served - just for you. It is a difference you can taste and it's a big part of what makes this San Diego's best Ceviche!
