  1. A flood warning was issued for the Santa Margarita River at Ysidora to run until later today. Vandegrift Road experienced flooding for several miles and it may impact the entrance to Camp Pendleton. Stuart Mesa Road was flooded near the bridge, and road closures are expected. Drivers are advised to use extreme caution and avoid going out during rainstorms if possible. More info at the National Weather Service Flood Safety Tips and Resources. (Weather Underground)
  2. Beach lovers will be happy to hear the annual Oceanside Harbor dredging will start in early April. The yearly sand replenishment effort was delayed by the recent storms. The good news is the amount of available sand is nearly double that of previous years; but that means the process could take until two weeks after Memorial Day. With more sand available, the city hopes to distribute it as far south as Wisconsin Street. The city’s new coastal administrator, Jayme Timberlake, will oversee this year's dredging and brings her expertise in coastal ecology and environmental management to help minimize delays and disruption. 3. Heads up, foodies! A new fast-casual restaurant just opened in downtown Oceanside on Cleveland Street. Mak Mak Organic is serving up a menu based on Southeast Asian street food and focuses on pastured chicken, organic tofu and tropical fruits, along with both hard and non-alcoholic beverages. Chef and owner James Limjoco brings his previous restaurant experience at Sublime Ale House to this new venture. (Eater San Diego)
