- Rep. Mike Levin voted last week to pass this fiscal year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which includes two of his amendments and secures key priorities for the Marine Corps base at Camp Pendleton. - Oceanside business owner, Roy Cisneros was previously homeless before he opened the 101 Marketplace consignment store in 2020. It was his dream to own a shop in his hometown, but that dream seemed far away at times. Cisneros said he and his wife and five children spent almost three years struggling to pay for meals and hotel rooms and sleeping in the car. Almost two years after opening the business is thriving with plenty of regulars and locals who love what the store has to offer. Cisneros has a goal to expand his businesses further into the technological age. He wants to purchase a warehouse and take his business online . (San Diego Union-Tribune)
- A storm that originated off New Zealand and sent historically large waves to Tahiti and Hawaii will produce breakers in the 5 to 9 foot level, with sets up to 10 feet, at some North County beaches through early Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The highest surf will be on exposed southwest-facing beaches. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion will occur. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. (National Weather Service)
