Here are the top four stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:

1. The City of Oceanside is conducting an internal investigation into recent allegations made against City Treasurer Victory Roy. The allegations surfaced in an email that Treasury Manager Steve Hodges sent to Roy and other city officials last month accusing Roy of several things including making investment decisions that lost the city money, illegally asking Hodges to donate to his 2020 campaign, viewing nudity on a public library computer and more. The city issued a statement to reassure the public that its investment portfolio "remains healthy and all investments comply with the city's investment policy and state law." The city treasurer is responsible for overseeing the management of the city's $450 million investment fund. It is an elected position in Oceanside, but in other cities, like the city of San Diego, it is an appointed position. (Voice of San Diego)
2. A new art-inspired restaurant is set to open in Oceanside on July 30. A first-of-its-kind venue, KNVS (pronounced Canvas), is an innovative concept where immersive-art-gallery meets restaurant and bar. The fourth eatery on The Fin Hotel Campus, KNVS finds its home among Kevin Shin's three other concepts, historic and Hawaiian-inspired restaurant and bar, The Switchboard Restaurant, coffee shop North County Roastery and pop-up Korean street food lounge, Haetae. An integration of creatives, KNVS will rotate its featured visual artist quarterly while the food and beverage team creates a coinciding menu inspired by the art on the walls. (What Now San Diego)

4. San Diegans experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, including thoughts of suicide, are now able to call or text 988 to get help for themselves or a loved one. The 988 number will connect to a trained counselor who can help them and connect them to services in the area where they live. This new service is in addition to San Diego County's Access and Crisis Line at 888- 724-7240. (Times of San Diego)
