  1. The FBI arrested a 34-year-old Oceanside man for allegedly making threats to kill a staff member from a school district located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Kiel Police Department released a statement on Facebook about the arrest. "We sincerely appreciate the FBI's assistance in locating and apprehending this man who can now be brought to justice for making a threat to kill a staff member of the Kiel Area School District," Chief of Police Dave Funkhouser wrote in a media release. The department reports the suspect will be referred for criminal charges related to his threat in Wisconsin. (WBAY)
  2. A free exhibit showcasing photos from the book, Heroes Live Here: A Tribute to Camp Pendleton Marines since 9/11, is open at the Oceanside Public Library until June 14. Fallbrook resident Amy Forsythe is the author of the new book that features stories, artwork and photos from Camp Pendleton Marines' involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. Forsythe is a Marine Corps veteran and served three deployments to Afghanistan and two combat tours in Iraq. (KPBS)
  3. Carlsbad police arrested the occupants of a stolen car containing one pound of methamphetamine. A child was also found inside the vehicle, CPD said Tuesday. 4. The 49th Congressional District race, which includes Oceanside, is more competitive after redistricting and is now considered a race to watch in the primary, according to the LA Times. Mike Levin include Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett, Brian Maryott, the former mayor of San Juan Capistrano who has been endorsed by the state GOP and Oceanside City Councilman Christopher Rodriguez. "The old adage, 'It's better to give than receive' is so true because on a day like today, this is my own personal parade here because I get to watch the smiles on these people's faces and everyone's lit up and glowing and just enjoying their day."
