CA Home Sales Continue To Plummet As Rents Spike. 17 Rescued In Trafficking Crackdown In San Diego Area: FBI. (Patch) - Detectives arrested an Oceanside man on Friday for an alleged act of indecent exposure at a woman's Vista home earlier in the week. At around 1 p.m. Tuesday, the victim had finished shopping at a grocery store in Oceanside, when she returned home and realized she had been followed. The man exposed himself to her before driving off. Sheriff's detectives learned of surveillance photos of the incident and identified the suspect as Anton Hill, 23. Detectives interviewed Hill at his home, where he allegedly admitted to the crime. (Times of San Diego)
- Camp Pendleton issues Noise Advisory for Munitions Fire for August 20-28. Oceanside residents may hear booming noises as Camp Pendleton Marines conduct live-fire training this week. Troops will be firing high explosive munitions in the base's Whiskey/Zulu Impact Area each day from 6 a.m. to midnight, roughly seven miles from Oceanside. Depending on atmospheric conditions, communities as far as 50 miles away from the impact areas may be able able to hear the explosions, according to base officials. (Times of San Diego)
- Sweltering summers and higher electricity usage to cool homes could become the norm in Southern California by mid-century, according to new data that calculates temperature extremes associated with climate change. How hot could it get? According to the report, the number of 100-plus degree days will grow to 20 days in Temecula, 26 to 36 days across parts of the San Fernando Valey, up to 22 days in the San Gabriel Valley, as many as 14 days in inland Orange County, as many as 15 days in inland San Diego County, and a whopping 114 days in Palm Desert. - The San Clemente High School football team beat Oceanside in the first game of the season with a score of 48-7. San Clemente dominated the field with the Tritons scoring four touchdown passes from quarterback Broderick Redden in his debut, including over 100 yards and three touchdown passes to senior Thomas Hartanov, over 100 yard rushing and two touchdowns from Blake Allen and stifled Oceanside to take their fifth consecutive Battle for the Base, on Friday at Oceanside High School.
