- The Oceanside woman who stabbed her neighbor to death in 2020 was sentenced to 26 years to life today. Despite not knowing him, Jennifer Mendoza Ramos killed Jefferson Middle School teacher Chad Danielson on his front porch. "At trial, attorneys for both the prosecution and defense said Ramos told investigators that the voice of Satan commanded her to kill." (Coast News)
- The Oceanside Theatre Company has a festive lineup of performances for December, including "Not Your Normal Nutcracker." "Choreographed and starring Oceanside native Beth Megill as a 40-something Clara, who dreams of being a star, this whimsical modern jazz theater production brings to life an imaginary world filled with life-sized rodents, a melting snow kingdom, and a land of sweets comes to life." - An Oceanside man is lucky to be alive after being lost in the mountains near Big Bear for two weeks. The man was found by a couple who were camping in the area. After they alerted authorities the man, identified only as Eric, was airlifted by helicopter for medical treatment. "Eric told the pair that he had gotten lost after leaving his hometown Oceanside, California, which is 30-plus hours walking distance from where he was found. He lived off of a half-empty jar of salsa to stay alive." (PEOPLE)
