Oceanside Police Investigating Homicide Of A 22-Year Old Woman
A woman was shot by a male pedestrian after an argument while driving in a vehicle with male friends on Saturday just before noon.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A 22-year-old female was pronounced deceased after being shot by an unknown male pedestrian while driving in a vehicle with male friends who got into an argument with the shooter.
On Saturday, 06/04/22, at 11:44 am, Oceanside police officers responded to a medical aid at Bush St. & Archer St, just a few blocks away from the Joe Balderrama Recreation Center.
The caller advised their friend was having a panic attack and was having difficulty breathing. Officers arrived and located a 22-year-old female who was not breathing. The officers provided medical aid until Medics arrived and transported her to Tri-City Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. While at the scene, officers noticed the victim had actually sustained a single gunshot wound to her upper body.

Crimes of Violence Detectives responded and soon learned that the victim and her male friends were driving in a vehicle and were involved in an argument with an unknown male pedestrian. As the vehicle drove off, the unknown male shot at the vehicle. One round penetrated the rear of the vehicle and struck the woman. The name of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, 20-30 years of age, bald, 5’10” – 6’0” tall with a stocky build.
