While Oceanside scored #24 overall out of the top 200 cities in America, the best score was #6 for Mobility Rank. Thanks to lots of hiking and bike trails and access to the ocean including lots of boats at the harbor, Oceansiders should be able to stay ahead of any slow walking zombies.
On the flip side, the lowest scores for survivability in Oceanside were for the Vulnerability and Infrastructure Rankings. Apparently, Oceanside's lower number of Hospitals per Capita and Share of Available Homes with Basements (Bunkers) will put us at more risk when the zombies come to town.
Oceanside also scored above average when it comes to Public Health and Protection thanks to more access to Weapons and Ammunitions Stores, but scored below average for Pharmacies/Drug Stores.
Only 3 other California cities scored above Oceanside including Fullerton at #19, Torrance at #13, and Huntington Beach which came in at #1 in the nation. The California cities with the lowest scores included San Bernardino at #192, Palmdale at #194, Lancaster at #195 and Salinas at #197. The least safe city in America was awarded to Laredo Texas with low scores in almost every ranking.
