Oceanside’s Christmas in July Festival a Huge Success
The annual event brought in thousands of locals and earned national recognition.

‘Tis the season... for Christmas in July at least. Oceanside, California, hosted their 38th annual Christmas in July festival on July 11th. With over 150 vendors and 20,000 shoppers coming out to celebrate, the event was an immense success.
In addition to the homemade Christmas arts and crafts items, there was a rummage sale, a food court raffle, a bake sale, a kid’s activity area and live entertainment. Thousands of people came out to support their local community and spread a little holiday cheer. This festive event began in 1979, as a fundraiser hosted by the parents and staff of Old Mission Montessori School. Today, the annual shopping extravaganza brings in anywhere from $60,000 to $80,000 to provide for tuition at Mission San Luis Rey Parish’s parochial school.
In fact, the 38th annual Christmas in July festival is getting attention nationwide. The Oceanside event was recently ranked as one of the top 10 places across the country to celebrate this summer holiday. The ranking was conducted by Christmas tree retailer Treetopia.
