However, according to the staff report, the groins have been shown to interfere with the natural flow of sand down the coast specifically the sand transported south by large North Pacific swells during the fall and winter months. - Marine engineers from Camp Pendleton were detonating explosives in the Cleveland National Forest around the time of the Jim fire's ignition Wednesday morning, authorities have confirmed. The fire, which has been burning for two days inside the forest near the Riverside-Orange County line, was 50% contained and holding at 553 acres Friday morning. The official cause of the fire remains under investigation. Cleveland National Forest Service spokesman Nathan Judy acknowledged that crews were in the forest around the time of ignition. TLC is a restaurant, a bar, a coffeehouse and a food truck located in a new 5,200-square-foot indoor/outdoor space on Cleveland Street. TLC also has a large, glass-walled collaborative kitchen where its owners plan to host visiting chefs for dining events and special menus. (The San Diego Union-Tribune)
