Here are the top stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:
- A threat made against three Oceanside schools on Friday, fortunately, turned out to be unfounded. As a precaution, Oceanside Police placed the three schools on lockdown while they swept the buildings room by room. The schools were Jefferson Middle School, Burgener Elementary School and Mission High School. A little more than two hours after the threatening call was made, the lockdown was lifted. (NBC San Diego)
- A badly injured woman who was found by sheriff's deputies in Vista died at the hospital. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has launched a homicide investigation into the woman's death. "Sheriff's deputies responded to a radio call of an altercation in the 1200 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, Vista. Deputies along with the Fire Department and paramedics arrived on the scene and located a 30–35-year-old female with signs of trauma to her upper torso. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for further treatment. While at the hospital the victim's health continued to decline and she was pronounced deceased." (Press Release Desk)
- The San Diego County Crime Log is a look at some of this week's police, fire and courtroom stories from across the county: Violent crime is up in the region, while property crimes have decreased. A man pleaded guilty to attempted murder for hitting multiple people with his vehicle in Carlsbad. A woman riding an electric scooter suffered major injuries after being hit and dragged by an SUV in Vista. (Patch)
