Here are the top stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:

  1. A swift water rescue team pulled a teenage girl from the storm-swelled San Luis Rey River in Oceanside on Wednesday night. Witnesses reported seeing an unidentified girl jump from the Douglas Bridge into the river around 10 pm. Oceanside Fire Department arrived on the scene to find the girl standing in waist-deep water about 90 feet from the embankment, officials said. "A team of more than 30, including two Swift Water Rescue crews from Oceanside's Lifeguard Division and members of Cal Fire, helped pull the girl out of the water." The teen, whose identity and condition are unknown, was taken to the hospital. (NBC 7 San Diego)
  2. Two Oceanside restaurants made the annual list of top places to get brunch in North County from San Diego Magazine. Piper at The Seabird Resort was noted for its spectacular view of the ocean and pier, while its must-order dish is the Reuben Benedict. Two features that make its brunch stand out: a toast bar and a fried chicken and waffle bar. The recently opened Toasted Gastrobrunch + Dinner must-order dish is the Eggs in Purgatory, described as basically a shakshuka in a bread bowl. The restaurant was also given the thumbs up for its "flamboyant boat drinks (rum meets watermelon, gin meets lavender cordials)." Check out the complete list of the best brunch spots. (San Diego Magazine)
  3. Looking for things to do as the weather clears up this weekend? Patch has you covered with a line-up of the most interesting, fun and yummy things to do in our area. Spring Safari & Butterfly Jungle are happening at the Zoo Safari Park. Pet lovers won't want to miss "Not Just For Ugly Dogs" in Del Mar.
