- San Diego native Riley Compton honored as Camp Pendleton 'Female Athlete of the Year.' Born in San Diego, raised in Indiana, Compton was always into athletics. In fact, she played college softball at George Washington University. "Athletics and doing well academically were always what I was comprised of." Following college, Compton joined the Marine Corps and has been on active duty as a logistics officer for three years. Now while her goal is to make a career in the military, she still carries with her a passion for athletics. (ABC 10 News San Diego KGTV)
- TNT has announced the premiere date for the sixth and final season of their critically acclaimed crime-family drama series Animal Kingdom. The conclusion to the series kicks off in June with a back-to-back premiere of the first two episodes. The story of the series focuses on the Cody's, a criminal family located in Oceanside, California. Animal Kingdom first premiered back in 2016 and stars Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, and Leila George. (Collider)
- Help save lives by rolling up your sleeve and giving blood at the 38th Annual County Blood and Marrow Registry Drive. The month-long event officially kicked off Monday outside the County Administration Center. Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher was the first to donate. More than 20 County facilities will take part this year with the overall goal of collecting 500 pints for local hospitals. The events are open to the public, as well as County employees. - It has become increasingly difficult for James Beauford to sell fragrances and incense on Oceanside's sidewalks. Beauford's once full-time street vending operation has become a second source of income, he said, because it's easier to pay for a spot at the farmer's market than deal with the city's permit process and location restrictions. The strict regulations, burdensome permit processes and harsh punishments in some sidewalk vendor ordinances in cities in North County are leaving vendors with two choices: adapt or get left behind.
