Over 100 Acres Burned By Camp Pendleton As Part Of Controlled Effort

The controlled burn affected 100-150 acres.

CAMP PENDLETON — Camp Pendleton burned at least 100 acres as part of a controlled effort Wednesday, according to authorities.

The burn started shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the Whiskey Impact Area on Range 800, Second Lt. Jorin Hollenbeak said in an email, adding the effort was executed by the Camp Pendleton Fire Department

"The controlled burn was successful and Range 800 returned to normal operations at 4:07 p.m.," Hollenbeak said. "Approximately 100-150 acres were burned and there are no threats to personnel or structures."
