Over 100 Pounds Of Illegal Products Seized In Raid On Oceanside Smoke Shops: Police

OCEANSIDE, CA — More than 100 pounds of suspected illegal products were seized Thursday during a multi-agency crackdown on unlawful drug sales at vape and smoke shops in Oceanside, authorities said.
During the operation, investigators inspected four businesses and seized products believed to contain controlled substances and other regulated items, including kratom, psilocybin and THC, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
Police said four suspects were found in violation of state regulations and will face administrative penalties and fines issued by the state.

In addition to Oceanside police, the sweeps were conducted in coordination with personnel from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, Naval Criminal Investigative Service and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
"Vaping devices threaten our public safety. Oftentimes, youth don't know what is hiding in these devices," said James Nunnallee, special agent in charge of the DEA. "DEA is dedicated to keeping the community safe and drug free."
