Pedestrian​ Fatally Hit By Tow Truck In Oceanside​

OCEANSIDE, CA – A woman was hit and killed by a tow truck while crossing a street in Oceanside Thursday night, police said.

According to the Oceanside Police Department, the 54-year-old woman was crossing Mission Avenue at the intersection of Airport Road when she was struck by the westbound truck shortly before 8:40 p.m.

Responders arrived within two minutes and started life-saving efforts, but the woman died shortly after their arrival, police said. Her name was not released.

The driver of the truck was interviewed at the scene and released. At this time, alcohol, drugs and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.
