San Diego County Sheriff's Department: Butane Honey Lab - Fallbrook

On Sunday, September 19, 2021, around 1:35 p.m., deputies from the Fallbrook Substation responded to multiple reports of an explosion at the Village Apartments located at 1433 South Mission Road in Fallbrook. Per initial information gathered at the scene, the explosion was believed to be butane honey oil (BHO) related. One subject was located on scene with severe burns and transported to the hospital. The persons prognosis is unknown.

BHO labs have some specific safety concerns due to the unique dangers they create. San Diego County Sheriff Department's Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) detectives responded to assume the investigation. Due to hazardous materials being located on the property, the San Diego County's Hazmat Team also responded to assist.
