San Diego County Sheriff's Department: Death Investigation - Update

The Homicide Unit is identifying the male who was found deceased at the San Diego Central Jail on August 30, 2021, as fifty-five-year-old Glen William Davey. Davey is a resident of the city of El Cajon. His next of kin was located today and notified of his death. 

Davey was booked into custody by the El Cajon Police Department on August 27, 2021, for the charge of: 

3056 PC – Violation of Parole 

Information from prior release:

On August 30, 2021, at about 5:30 p.m., deputies at the San Diego Central Jail found a male inmate unresponsive in his cell. Deputies and medical staff immediately performed lifesaving measures until relieved by fire department personnel. Unfortunately, the male was pronounced deceased at the facility.  

The Homicide Unit responded to investigate the death. The male was in a cell with two other inmates. No evidence of foul play was discovered. The identity of the male is known to investigators; however, his name is being withheld pending family notification. 

The Medical Examiner's Office has scheduled the autopsy for September 1, 2021.
