San Diego County Sheriff's Department: Fatal Traffic Collision - Vista

On July 24, 2021, approximately 2311 hours, Sheriff's Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Vista Station, Traffic Division, and Vista Fire Department personnel responded to a person down in the roadway at the intersection of East Vista Way and Arcadia Avenue, city of Vista.

Based on the preliminary investigation, a white Lexus sedan, possibly an IS300, was driving southbound on East Vista Way and collided with a pedestrian crossing westbound East Vista Way. The unidentified male was transported to Palomar Medical Center via ambulance. Despite medical intervention, his death was pronounced on July 25, 2021 at 0005 hours. Immediately after the collision, the white Lexus sedan fled northbound on East Vista Way towards Fallbrook and has not been located.
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.
