San Diego County Sheriff's Department: Fatal Traffic Collision - Vista

On 08-03-21, at approximately 0129 hours, a black Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Shadowridge Drive, approaching the controlled T-intersection at Sycamore Avenue.  The driver and sole occupant, a 24-year-old male, continued eastbound across Sycamore Avenue and collided into a concrete block retaining wall that sits along the east curb line of Sycamore Avenue.  The driver was transported to Palomar Medical Center, Escondido where he succumbed to his injuries.  The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
