Craig Gourd has been found safe near a creek bed in the 1300 block of Tavern Road. As a precaution, he was taken to a hospital where he was reunited with his family. The Alpine Sheriff's Substation thanks the public and media for their assistance.

The Alpine Sheriff's Substation wants your help in locating a missing person in East County.
76-year-old Craig Gourd was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on August 26 near 1700 Arnold Way in Alpine. Gourd stands 5' 11" tall, thin build and short gray hair. He has limited speaking ability and walks with a limp. Gourd was last seen wearing a gray shirt, black pants, with black and gray Skechers shoes. Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteers were called in to help search for Gourd. Sheriff's ASTREA (the Sheriff's helicopter unit) is also assisting with the search.
