A small plane crashed on Friday afternoon just east of Oceanside Airport off Foussat Road and Highway 76. One person is reported dead.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A small plane crashed on Friday afternoon just east of Oceanside Airport in an empty field off Foussat Road and Highway 76 on Friday afternoon, according to multiple news sources.
4:07 P.M. UPDATE: CBS8 reports that one person has died in the plane crash in Oceanside Friday afternoon, police said. Two people were aboard a GoJump Oceanside aircraft at the time of the crash.
A woman on the plane who was transferred by ambulance to Tri-City Medical was pronounced dead, according to Oceanside police, who also reported that the other passenger was a man.

According to reporting by City News Service, the aviation accident just east of Bob Maxwell Memorial Field was reported about 2 p.m., according to the Oceanside Police Department. Paramedics took the two people who had been aboard the GoJump Oceanside aircraft to a hospital for treatment of injuries of unknown severity, OPD Lt. Scott Garrett said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
