CAMP PENDLETON — Camp Pendleton issued a smoke advisory Thursday afternoon for a vegetation fire in the X-RAY Impact Area of the base.

"Smoke may be visible, but there is currently no threat to personnel or structures," authorities said in a social media post around 2:15 p.m. "The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is on scene."

The department was conducting a prescribed burn, set intentionally by experts to manage the area, according to Camp Pendleton.
