A soldier from Oceanside died Saturday in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Army Pfc. Cesar Cortez, 24, was deployed in support of United States Mission Iraq.
Cortez was assigned to 5th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command at Fort Bliss in Texas.
