Here are the top five stories in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton today:
- Just days after a heatwave baked the San Diego region with summer-like weather, a strong storm is expected to move into the region bringing heavy rainfall along the coast and snow in the local mountains. The National Weather Service forecast a slight chance of rain moving in late Sunday night with the bulk of the storm landing Monday along with a chance of thunder and lightning. (San Diego Patch)
- The Oceanside Police Department is helping provide some relief at the pump as part of its Random Acts of Kindness Program. On Good Evening San Diego, KUSI's Logan Byrnes talked with Jennifer Atenza, the departments' public information officer, to discuss how they are giving out gas money. (KUSI)
- Sesame Place San Diego, the brand's first West Coast park, opened Saturday with 18 Sesame Street-themed rides and water attractions across 17 acres in Chula Vista. The theme park, owned by SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, is based on the award-winning children's television show that has aired for more than five decades. (San Diego Patch)
