Tarballs On The Beach: Oceanside Photo Of The Day

Thanks to Mike Amanuel for today's photos. Patch loves photos! Share your photos with Patch and your work could be featured, too.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Patch reader and Oceanside resident, Mike Amanuel captured these photos of tarballs on the beach in Oceanside. After Mike and others alerted the city and local media of the recent tarball sightings, the city posted the following update on social media:

  • City of Oceanside: Oceanside Beach Lifeguards have spotted evidence of some tar balls on the beach near the Pier. The tar balls have been reported to the State, and an assessment and cleanup team has been ordered. All are reminded not to touch tarballs they may see: https://bit.ly/3FVwFjJ (Twitter)

The Patch would like to thank Mike for his example for all Oceansider's. If you see tarballs don't touch them but do take photos and report them to the city. We can all do our part to help protect and preserve our beaches.

Thanks for sharing!
