Traveling by Car This 4th Of July? Check Gas Prices In Oceanside

Gas prices are at a seven-year high this Independence Day. Before you travel, see how much you can expect to pay at the pump.

OCEANSIDE, CA — If you're among the millions of Americans traveling this 4th of July, you may be in for some sticker shock at the gas pump.

Gas prices are at a seven-year high heading into the holiday weekend, according to a recent AAA report. As of July 1, the average price for a gallon of gas in the United States was $3.12.
Last year, gas prices hovered around $2.18 per gallon just before the July 4 holiday.

How much can you expect to pay at the pump in San Diego? AAA data shows the average price for a gallon of gas in San Diego County was $4.26 on July 1. Average prices are updated daily.

According to GasBuddy the cheapest price for gas in Oceanside is $3.85 on July 1.

If you live in the western U.S., you're likely paying some of the highest gas prices in the nation. As of July 1, gas prices averaged $4.28 in California, $3.73 in Nevada and $3.76 in Washington state.
Meanwhile, Southern states including Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Missouri enjoyed the nation's lowest gas prices, ranging from $2.75 to $2.83 per gallon.

Destinations vary this 4th of July, but AAA says the top five destinations this year are Orlando; Anaheim, California; Denver; Las Vegas and Seattle.
