World Bodysurfing Championships This Weekend In Oceanside

The 44th annual Oceanside World Bodysurfing contest is August 21 - 22. Considered the premier Bodysurfing contest in the US.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The top bodysurfers in the world are headed to Oceanside for the 44th annualWorld Bodysurfing Championships on August 21 - 22.

Considered the premier Bodysurfing contest in the US, approximately 350-400 bodysurfers from around the world will compete in their respective age divisions for trophies and prizes.

The competition is held adjacent to the Oceanside Pier with heats beginning at 6:30 am each day and ending sometime in the early afternoon. Prelims for all age divisions will be held on Saturday. All semifinals and finals will run on Sunday. The Men and Women's Grand Champions will be crowned on Sunday afternoon.
