1 Dead In Fatal SUV Crash In OC, Police Say
A motorcyclist was struck and killed by an SUV Wednesday in Orange County.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist was struck and killed by an SUV Wednesday in Orange County.
Investigators said that a white SUV traveling eastbound on West Commonwealth Avenue in Fullerton attempted a U-turn at North Basque Avenue, causing westbound traffic to stop abruptly, according to police.
"The motorcycle was traveling westbound on Commonwealth Avenue when the rider attempted to avoid the stopped vehicles. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle in oncoming eastbound traffic when the Toyota RAV4, traveling eastbound Commonwealth Avenue, struck the rider in the roadway," police said in a statement.

Fullerton firefighter-paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The man's name was not immediately released pending next-of-kin notification.
The 47-year-old man behind the wheel of the Toyota RAV4 remained at the scene during the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.

Officers were sent to the scene around 3:11 p.m. and found the motorcyclist lying in the roadway, suffering from traumatic injuries, and had his black 2020 Harley Davidson stuck underneath a gray 2021 Toyota RAV4, police said.
