2 Found Dead At University Of California, Irvine

IRVINE, CA — A man and a woman were found dead on the University of California, Irvine campus Tuesday afternoon, the Irvine Police Department said.
Campus police initially received a call to the 200 block of Pereira Drive in the school's Social Science Plaza B about people on the ground outside of a building where they found the pair dead.
Police said the man and woman may be related.

"We are still gathering information about who the victims are and exactly what happened, but law enforcement has informed us that there is no ongoing danger to our community," Chancellor Howard Gillman said in a statement released Tuesday.
Both the Chancellor and Irvine police said that preliminary information suggests that at least one death occurred at the hands of another. Police described the deaths as a murder-suicide.
