4 Former Angels Testify They Were Given Drugs By Eric Kay, Same As Tyler Skaggs

Four MLB players testified that former Angels employee Eric Kay gave them drugs after Kay was accused of providing drugs to Tyler Skaggs.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA —Three former Los Angeles Angel pitchers and one former first baseman testified Tuesday that they received oxycodone pills from Eric Kay, the previously-employed Angels staffer accused of in the death of Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs, the Orange County Register and Associated Press reported Wednesday.

Skaggs died of an overdose in 2019.

Former Angels pitchers Matt Harvey, Mike Morin and Cam Bedrosian, as well as first baseman C.J. Cron took the stand Tuesday and described reported drug use that occurred in and around the Angels while they played for the team three years ago.

The players worked with the Angels around 2017 through 2019, the same timeframe that prosecutors say Eric Kay obtained drugs for the team.

Kay currently faces drug distribution and drug conspiracy charges, the report stated.
