Would-Be Bank Robber Sought In Orange County

Have you seen this person? Cops say he handed a bank teller a note, demanding money. Then, this happened.

SANTA ANA, CA —He tried to rob a bank with a note, but failed, Santa Ana Police Department said. Now, the police are asking for the public's help catching the suspected would-be bank robber.

In mid-December, a young man walked into the Wells Fargo branch at 3764 W. McFadden Avenue, in Santa Ana, SAPD Cpl. Anthony Bertagna told Patch.

"The suspect slipped a note demanding money to a teller, prompting the bank employee to sound an alarm," Bertagna said. "The suspect then fled before getting any money."

The suspect peeled out from the scene in a teal-colored Jeep Wrangler. Another Caucasian man, thought to be in his 40s, was behind the wheel, according to Bertagna.

Police released surveillance video photos of the suspect in hopes of someone recognizing him.
