BUENA PARK, CA — A 40-year-old Pico Rivera man was arrested in connection with a violent robbery that happened earlier this year in Orange County, police said.
The robbery happened April 25, when officers with the Buena Park Police Department responded to the 7700 block of San Rafael Drive just before 9 a.m. after receiving reports of a robbery.
According to investigators, the victim was physically attacked and robbed of two gold chains and a pair of Apple Airpods.
The assault left the victim with severe injuries requiring emergency surgery at the time, police said.
During the investigation, Buena Park police identified the suspect as Jesus Alejandro Rocha-Herrera.
Rocha-Herrera was found and arrested more than a week later.
Investigators believed that Rocha-Herrera may have been involved in similar crimes in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
