ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The Orange County Sheriff's Department is mourning the loss of one of its own, after Mounted Enforcement Unit partner Wednesday passed away, authorities said this week.
Wednesday joined the OCSD in 2024 and quickly became a favorite wherever she went. She was well-loved and owned by Sgt. Eiben and family members, according to the OCSD.
"A true gentle giant, her calm demeanor and kind personality drew people to her at every community event, making her an incredible ambassador for our Mounted Unit," the OCSD wrote in a statement Thursday. "Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she made on our unit and community will never be forgotten."
Wednesday died on July 7 on unknown causes, according to authorities.
