ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Sixty-nine homeless people were arrested when officers with the City of Orange Police Department cleaned out homeless camps near Hart Park and along the city's boundaries last week.
Orange PD's Bike Team worked alongside the Santa Ana Police Department and several other agencies to "address quality of life issues," according to the department.
"The operation focused on addressing ongoing transient-related issues," the department said in a statement.
During the operation, police arrested 69 people. In total, suspects were charged with 53 misdemeanors and 16 felonies.
Ten were also referred to public resources.
