Wheelchair-Bound Man, 74, Fatally Hit By Car In Huntington Beach: Police

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A 74-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a car in Huntington Beach Tuesday.

The crash happened at around 2 p.m. Tuesday at Skylab Road and Able Lane, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The victim was crossing southbound in a motorized wheelchair on Skylab Road when he was hit by a Honda traveling eastbound, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries.

The man was only identified as a Westminster resident.

The Honda's driver — a 45-year-old man was Los Angeles — remained on scene and helped investigators, police said.
