Domestic Violence Suspect Shot By Officers In OC Apartment Complex, Police Say

TUSTIN, CA — A domestic violence suspect was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Tustin Monday, authorities said.

The incident happened at around 2:32 p.m., when Tustin police officers responded to the 1400 block of Walnut Avenue in response to reports of a domestic violence incident, according to the Tustin Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive woman lying on the floor inside the home.

A man inside of the apartment soon advanced on the officers with a knife and an officer-involved shooting happened, police said.

According to police, the man died at the scene of his injuries despite life-saving measures.

An initial investigation found that the woman inside the apartment was dead and may have been for some time before officers arrived.

The relationship between the victim and suspect was under investigation, police said.
