ANAHEIM, CA — Thousands of local residents were invited to celebrate more than 70 years of Disneyland during the Happiest Day in Anaheim on Thursday.
The event followed the "70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim" initiative in 2025, and featured a number of surprise appearances, school visits, events and more.
The event culminated with the Disneyland Resort's "Main Street on Your Street" event Thursday, which transformed Anaheim's Center Greens Park into a unique version of the theme park's Main Street U.S.A.
More than 2,000 Anaheim residents showed up to the event to enjoy Disney fare, meet characters, view performances and more, according to a park spokesperson.
Disney Social Responsibility Manager Eric Benitez told The Orange County Register that the day-long event is about "really just wanting to celebrate the residents in Anaheim."
"Anaheim has been Disneyland's home since our beginning, so we wanted to give a big thank you to the residents," he told the newspaper. "And all of the stop we've been doing across the month, there's just been so many smiles."
