PRANGE COUNTY, CA — Be aware, Orange County: Another Beach Hazards Advisory is headed your way.
The advisory comes into effect starting Tuesday afternoon and will continue through Friday evening, the National Weather Service said.
Under the advisory, residents can expect minor coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents due to the combination of high tides and elevated surf.
Residents can expect an elevated surf this week, with high tides peaking between six and-a-half and seven feet during the evenings, the service said.
The advisory comes amid a scorching heat wave hitting Southern California.
While the extreme temperatures may prompt many to visit the beach, authorities urged caution.
The unusually long stretch of extreme heat started Friday across Southern California, with temperatures surging into the triple digits in some areas through Saturday.
Meteorologists anticipate temperatures remaining well above normal for much of this week.
