Police say that this man is being sought for shooting his ex-girlfriend in the city of Orange. If seen, call 911. Here is what happened.

ORANGE, CA —A search was still underway Friday as police seek help in finding a Costa Mesa man suspected of shooting his ex-girlfriend this week.

On Wednesday morning, Patrick Allen French, 33, allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend who is now hospitalized in serious but stable condition, it has been reported.

Police responded to an apartment complex at 700 E. Lake Drive where the shooting occurred at the unnamed woman's home.

French remains at large, police said Friday morning. A photo of French that was shared on Twitter shows that he is a former EMT.
French is believed to have fled in a rented silver Ford Explorer, license number 8HWE087. He should be considered armed and dangerous, according to Orange Police Sgt. Phil McMullin.
