Barricaded Suspect Shot In Anaheim: Report

Police serving a warrant ended with one man shot, Thursday.

ANAHEIM, CA — A barricaded suspect was shot by police who were attempting to serve a search warrant, Patch was told.

Irvine Police officers arrived on the 500 block of north Harcourt Street at 9 a.m. Thursday, to serve a search warrant on a suspect wanted for vehicle burglary, Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police said.

"The man Irvine police sought was suspected of stealing guitars and amps from a vehicle," she said.

During that time, he barricaded himself. Anaheim Police, together with the SWAT team, assisted and an exchange of gunfire took place, wounding the suspect.

As of noon, the suspect's condition was not made known. No officers were injured during the incident.

Crescent Avenue has been closed in both directions between Cambria and Magnolia streets for a subsequent investigation.
