Best Friends Donate Kidneys To Orange County Couple In Need

When Orange County resident Ron Morales found out he needed a kidney transplant this week, his best friend stepped up to help.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — When Orange County resident Ron Morales was told that he needed a kidney transplant, both he and his wife, Chris, knew they needed to act fast.

When best friend Brad Thompson heard of Ron's need for a kidney, he stepped up and offered his own, KTLA reported.

"He needed it, and I had an extra is basically the reason." Brad told KTLA.

Seven years back, Chris was in the same situation and in need of a kidney transplant. Her best friend and Brad's wife, Debbie, offered her own, the report said.

"Now we call each other kidney sisters," Debbie told KTLA.

Brad was released from Cedars-Sinai in Beverly Hills on Sunday after a short recovery stint. Ron is still hospitalized and expected to make a full recovery soon.

ā€œI am so grateful, thankful that they did this for me, and I want to thank the whole family, because it’s a team effort,ā€ Ron told KTLA.
