Bicyclist Fatally Struck By DUI Driver In Fountain Valley, Police Say
The fatal crash was reported early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Sunn Avenue and Los Coches Street.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — One man was killed while riding his bike after he was struck by a car in Fountain Valley early Tuesday morning, the Fountain Valley Police Department reported.
Fountain Valley police officers responded to a report of a serious traffic crash near the intersection of Sunn Avenue and Los Coches Street at around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Once arriving, paramedics found the victim and declared him dead at the scene. He was identified as 62-year-old Phong Khuu, of Garden Grove.
Investigators found that Khuu was likely riding eastbound on Sunn Avenue when he was struck by a gray Honda CRV making a U-turn there. The driver was identified as 43-year-old Scott McDonough of Fountain Valley.

The driver of the Honda CRV, who was identified as 43-year-old Scott McDonough of Fountain Valley, remained at the scene and appeared to be under the influence, police said.
He was arrested for DUI causing injury and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, authorities said.
